Day 1 Exploration
Arrival (See Getting There for more details) - Arrival (See Getting There for more details): A transfer from the airport can be arranged for an extra cost. Accommodation before the tour starts can be arranged for an extra cost.
Day 2 Exploration
Day 1 - Arusha to Tarangire National Park: Arusha, known as Tanzania’s safari hub, is a lively city at the heart of the country’s tourism. Your driver-guide will meet you in Arusha at your lodge, where he will pick you up, and from there, you will begin your journey toward Tarangire National Park. The park gets its name from the Tarangire River, which flows through it and serves as the main water source for many animals. Tarangire is well known for its large elephant populations, rich birdlife, and genuine, peaceful safari atmosphere. You will have a packed lunch during the day, and after an exciting afternoon game drive, you will proceed to Kankari Lodge for your overnight stay.
Day 3 Exploration
Day 2 - Ngorongoro Crater: Wake up early today to ensure a smooth descent into the iconic Ngorongoro Crater. As you enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the scenery quickly becomes breathtaking, and the view from the crater rim is nothing short of spectacular. This ancient, inactive volcanic crater — about 3 million years old and roughly 20 km² — remains the world’s largest intact caldera. Its natural walls create an environment rich with wildlife, including the Big Five and a strong chance of seeing the rare black rhino. You may also encounter hyenas, zebras, buffalos, and elephants, making it an unforgettable safari setting. By late afternoon, you’ll head to Kankari Lodge to relax and enjoy a peaceful night’s rest.
Day 4 Exploration
Day 3 - Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha: After a refreshing night’s sleep, you begin what many call the “day of the lions”. Enjoy an early breakfast, check out, and make your way to Lake Manyara National Park. Covering about 330 km², around 200 km² of which becomes a lake during high water, the park offers an impressive mix of wildlife. From vast flocks of pink flamingos painting the shoreline to close-up encounters with majestic bull elephants, Lake Manyara is rich in both animal and bird species. A highlight of this unique ecosystem is the famous tree-climbing lions, one of its rarest sights. After your game drive through the lush groundwater forest and open plains, you will start your journey back to Arusha in the mid-afternoon. You’ll return with your heart full and your camera packed with unforgettable moments from your East African safari, where you will be dropped off at your Hotel in Arusha.
Day 5 Exploration
End of tour (See Getting There for more details) - End of tour (See Getting There for more details): Additional accommodation can be arranged for an extra cost. A transfer back to the airport can be arranged for an extra cost.
