Pick Up From Hotel Or Kigali Airport And Transfer To Nyungwe National Park – Canopy Walk
At 7:00 am, you will be picked up from the hotel by the driver-guide and drive to Nyungwe National Park with views of the countless hills of Rwanda with stops at the Kamegeri’s rock, and the former King’s palace that showcases all the cultural aspects of the Rwanda and it's people. You will have a short Lunch break, and later proceed the park headquarters to register for the canopy walk. The amazing canopy walk takes you across a hanging platform that crosses over the tall and majestic trees of Nyungwe. The hanging platform is built 50 meters above the ground and is 200 meters long. You'll have an aerial view of the forest, enabling you to spot birds and more of the primates feeding.
Chimpanzee Trekking – Nature Walk + Waterfalls
You'll wake up early for breakfast at the lodge and prepare for a long day of activities. The driver will take you to the briefing, which starts at Uwinka. Then, park officials will assign you one of the trails, depending on the number of participants. During chimpanzee tracking, expect to spot 12 smaller species of primate, including owl-faced monkeys, Dent’s Mona Monkeys, Silver monkeys, Olive Baboons, Red-tailed Monkeys, grey-cheeked Mangabeys, and l’hoest’s monkeys. Nyungwe Forest is every birder’s dream destination, with a medley of colorful bird species like the Rwenzori Turaco, the Great Blue Turaco, and forest hornbills. During the trek, the park guides will share information about each of the species encountered — their behavior, feeding, and reproductive habits. The waterfall trail is popular and takes 3 hours to complete. If time permits, you could be taken to track Angola Colobus in Gisakura. Later, you'll check in at the lodge for an overnight stay.
Departure To Kigali With Stops At The Gisakura Tea Factory
At 9:00 am, the driver-guide will take you to Gisakura Tea Estate for a tour of the farm and factory. At the tea estate, you will learn how tea is grown, processed, and packed at the factory. You will then continue the long journey to Kigali for the airport drop off. End of the safari. Thanks for choosing SilverBird Tours Agency. End of tour (See Getting There for more details) - End of tour (See Getting There for more details): Additional accommodation can be arranged for an extra cost. You'll be dropped off at the airport.
