Day 1 Exploration

Day 2 Exploration
Day 1 - Pick up from Bujumbura Airport and transfer to Rusizi National Park for a boat cruise: Your safari will start with a warm welcome from your guide at the airport. After greetings, you'll have lunch and later head to Rusizi National Park on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. Here, you'll embark on a boat cruise, which will allow you to spot several aquatic animals like hippos, crocodiles, and other water birds. After, you'll head back to Bujumbura for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3 Exploration
Day 2 - Transfer to Gitega via Source of the Nile & Karera falls: On your second day, you'll wake up early in the morning, have breakfast, and head to Gitega, Burundi's second-largest city. You'll pass via the Karera falls in Kibira National Park. The roaring sound of the crystal clear water from high above, in a sequence which can also be viewed through a canopy walk, is fascinating. You'll also pass via Source Du Nil, where the local guide will explain its relationship with the famous River Nile. After, you'll head to Gitega, where you'll have dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4 Exploration
Day 3 - Gitega drumming experience and transfer to Kigali for overnight: You'll wake up early in the morning, have breakfast, and embark on a journey to Gitega Drumming Sanctuary, where you'll meet the Gitega drummers. A local guide will explain to you the history behind the drums made, about Burundi's ancient governance, as you visit the former King's palace. After, the drummers will entertain you with their high jump dances. You'll then embark on a journey to Kigali. You'll pass via Kobero (the Tanzania border) and Rusumo(the Tanzania-Rwanda border). You'll arrive at Kigali in the evening, where you'll check in at the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5 Exploration
Day 4 - Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park: You'll have breakfast at ease and then embark on a journey to Volcanoes National Park. You'll first embark on a city tour of Kigali, where you'll visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center. You'll learn about the anti-human tragedy that befell the people of Rwanda in 1994, where hundreds of thousands of people lost their lives. You'll then head to Volcanoes National Park, where you'll check in at the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6 Exploration
Day 5 - Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park: You'll head to the park headquarters after breakfast for a briefing about golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park. You'll be escorted by rangers and a guide to the forest in search of these beautiful, playful primates. Upon finding them, you'll spend an hour watching their playful behavior. After, you'll return to the lodge for lunch and later embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Day 7 Exploration
Day 6 - Gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation: After an early morning breakfast, you'll head to the park headquarters with your packed lunch for a briefing about the gorilla trekking rules and regulations. After, you'll be grouped into 8 to track a gorilla family that will be assigned to you. You'll head to the forest accompanied by a guide and 2 rangers in search of the gorilla family, and after finding them, you'll stay in their presence for an hour, after which you'll return to the starting point to receive your certificate appreciating you for taking part in gorilla conservation. After, you'll head to Lake Bunyonyi, a lava-dammed lake that is 900ft deep. The lake is dotted with 29 islands that make it beautiful and ideal for relaxation.
Day 8 Exploration
Day 7 - Transfer back to Kigali to end the tour: On this day, you'll wake up, have breakfast, and pack your bags. You'll then embark on a journey to Kigali, where your driver guide will drop you off either at the hotel or airport. Upon arrival, your driver will say goodbye, and this will mark the end of the 7-Day Burundi-Rwanda-Uganda Culture and Primate Safari.
