Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by one of our experienced driver-guides. After a brief introduction, he will escort you to Arusha and your hotel, where you will be introduced to this wonderful city and country.
Arusha – Tarangire National Park
After a tasty breakfast, our driver-guide will collect you from your hotel and transport you and to Tarangire for a game drive (we’ll bring picnic lunches). After the game drive, we will continue to Karatu for dinner and you overnight stay. The park derives its name from the Tarangire River, which serves as the sole water source for the wildlife here during the dry season. The park is famous for its elephant herds, iconic baobab trees, and tree-climbing pythons.
Tarangire National Park – Lake Manyara National Park
Today you will enjoy excellent views over Lake Manyara, see elephants up close in the woodlands, and visit the renowned Manyara hippo pool, where many, many hippos stay in the water from early morning until late in the evening. Your overnight stay will be at the lodge on a full board basis. Lake Manyara National Park spans a modest 330 square kilometers (127 square miles), of which Lake Manyara itself makes up 200 square kilometers (77 square miles) at its peak. This park is also a prime location for bird enthusiasts and offers ample opportunities to spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, baboons, warthogs, buffalos, and, with a stroke of luck, the elusive tree-climbing lion! During your game drive, consider taking a break at the hippo pool to stretch your legs and observe these fascinating creatures.
Karatu – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you’ll depart early in the morning with a lunchbox in hand for a day of game viewing in Serengeti National Park. You will spend two nights in the Serengeti. Located in northern Tanzania, the Serengeti spans approximately 15,000 square kilometers and holds the esteemed status of being a UNESCO World Heritage site. The park is home to over two million herbivores, 4,000 lions, 1,000 leopards, 550 cheetahs, and around 500 bird species. It is also renowned for hosting massive herds of migratory wildebeest and zebra during the dry season. However, the North Serengeti also nurtures a rich population of wildlife year-round, including lions, elephants, hippos, giraffes, crocodiles, and the elusive oribi antelope.
